Wexford
Lifeboat crew under 150 hours of
competency based training each year.
A comprenhensive range of modules
including
navigation, first aid, lookout, fire
fighting,
sea survival, lauching and recovery,
towing,
man over board, helicopter transfers,
engine
mechanics and post imersion restart
system,
pyrotechnics and knots.
A traffic light colour system indicates
whether
a module has been completed and is
ready for
assessment.
Crew also partake in local and remote
training
by the RNLI. All crew visit the RNLI
College in
Poole (right picture) for week long
courses.
